In Greene County district court John Taylor Roberts, 19, of Scranton was sentenced May 10 to 14 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of carrying weapons. He must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for the time he serves. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. On a charge of possession of marijuana, Roberts was sentenced to two days in jail; the jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days.
He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). He must pay $1,000 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A charge against Roberts in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed with court costs assessed to the state. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Information is available since the return of arrest warrants that Trinity Glen Welch, 29, of Jefferson has been charged with domestic abuse assault display or use weapon, and in a separate case, possession of marijuana- second offense and possession of methamphetamine.
Cases were initiated during the week ending May 10 as follows: Michael Edward Dean Dennhardt, 49, of Rippey, operating while intoxicated- first offense; Michelle Nicole Howard, 23, of Boxholm, OWI- first offense; and Priest Delray Wilson, 38, of Fort Dodge, possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense.
